We're supporting a major financial services organisation as they strengthen their UNIX engineering capability to support a large-scale vulnerability remediation programme.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll use your UNIX expertise to analyse vulnerabilities across a large enterprise estate and drive remediation activities.
Working as part of an experienced UNIX team, you'll be responsible for understanding vulnerabilities across Linux, middleware and database platforms, assessing the required remediation and working with engineering teams to resolve them.
What you'll be doing
-
Analyse vulnerability data across a large UNIX/Linux estate.
-
Assess vulnerabilities affecting Linux, Oracle, WebLogic and Tivoli environments.
-
Understand remediation requirements rather than simply passing work to other technical teams.
-
Prioritise remediation based on risk and business impact.
-
Work closely with infrastructure and engineering teams to reduce security risk.
-
Support wider UNIX engineering activities when required.
We're looking for someone with
-
Strong UNIX/Linux infrastructure engineering experience.
-
Good understanding of enterprise vulnerability management and remediation.
-
Experience working across Linux, middleware and database technologies.
-
Python or Shell scripting experience.
-
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
-
Experience within large enterprise or financial services environments is desirable.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile security programme while remaining hands-on within a large-scale UNIX environment.
