We are currently looking for an experienced Operational Resilience Manager to join one of our financial services clients.
This is a hands-on role focused on providing assurance over response and recovery capabilities supporting Important Business Services, with particular emphasis on Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Crisis Management.
You will work across Technology and the wider business, as well as with external service partners, helping ensure resilience capabilities are clearly defined, effectively tested and evidenced, and continually improved.
- Map resilience capabilities against scenarios, testing and assurance activity to identify coverage, maturity and gaps.
- Support the planning and execution of extreme but plausible scenario testing, including internal, joint and industry exercises.
- Manage vulnerabilities, risks and issues identified through resilience testing and assurance.
- Help develop continuous improvement plans based on testing and assurance findings.
- Produce clear, high-quality reporting on response and recovery capability for Executive and Board-level stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Crisis Management service providers.
- Agree service scope, service levels, deliverables and performance expectations with internal and external partners.
- Define meaningful metrics and benchmarking to demonstrate service performance and resilience capability.
- Constructively challenge service owners and partners where performance falls below agreed expectations.
- Develop and maintain capability and assurance frameworks supporting Important Business Services.
You will have strong experience within Operational Resilience in Financial Services, combined with a detailed understanding of:
- Disaster Recovery (DR)
- Business Continuity Management (BCM)
- Crisis Management
- Operational Resilience testing and scenario exercises
- Important Business Services
- Resilience capability and assurance frameworks
- Risk, vulnerability and issue management
- Regulatory and industry resilience requirements
Experience managing services delivered through third parties, partners or Managed Service Providers would be particularly valuable, including defining service levels, establishing KPIs/metrics and benchmarking performance.
You’ll also need to be comfortable working with senior stakeholders, translating complex resilience issues into clear recommendations and challenging internal teams and external providers where necessary.
This would suit someone who combines a strong understanding of financial services operational resilience with practical experience of response, recovery, testing and assurance .
