Network Security Specialist

Role overview:

We are currently looking for a Network Security Specialist to join one of our large Financial Services clients to work on a Physical Network Segregation project.


Start Date: January 2025​
Term: tbc​
Location: Hybrid with Edinburgh or Sheffield preferred.
Role Type: Contract (Inside IR35)

 

Key deliverables may include:

  • Global scope, with specific deadlines for EU / ECB actions to be completed.
  • Network Segmentation - Install / configure & test across Data centres.
  • Create network segmentation strategies and implement zero-trust security models for enhanced protection.
  • Migrate, implement, and manage network infrastructure across datacentres.
  • Global design, delivery and support of Internet Network Security Infrastructure within Data Centres.
  • Hardware and configuration deployment using network automation tools and scripting languages e.g., Python, Ansible.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for application requirements and create network solutions.
  • Ensure network security by implementing industry-best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues.
  • Document network designs, configurations, and operating procedures.
  • Manage project risks, timelines, and milestones, ensuring the successful implementation of the network and security solutions.

 

Key Skills:

  • Extensive experience working as a Network Security Specialist / Consultant / Architect with complex IT networking.
  • Experience implementing network segregation within a complex IT environment.
  • Strong background in network security.
  • A deep understanding of network concepts, protocols, and technologies is essential.
  • Experience in designing secure, resilient, and scalable network architectures.
  • Deep knowledge of advanced security architectures.
  • Understanding of network virtualization and software-defined networking
  • Proficiency in scripting language to automate network tasks, manage configurations, and streamline processes.
  • Design and Implementation of Cisco, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, F5, AWS and Azure network technologies.
  • Be able to align network solutions with the business goals and objectives of the organisation.
  • Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills.
  • Recent Financial Services experience essential.

 

Please note this requirement does not support overseas working and will be Inside IR35.
