Security Network Architect
We are looking for an experienced Security Network Architect to support a major Zero Trust and platform transformation programme within a large financial services organisation.
This role will focus on bridging traditional network security architecture with modern, identity-based security controls delivered through Service Mesh technologies.
Key Responsibilities:

Design end-to-end network security solutions incorporating Zero Trust and Service Mesh architectures.

Assess how existing security controls (Firewalls, WAF, IDS/IPS, Proxies, DDoS and Segmentation) integrate with Service Mesh capabilities.

Develop security architecture standards, design patterns and technical documentation.

Work closely with Enterprise Architects, Platform Architects and Engineering teams to deliver secure solutions.

Provide technical leadership, identify security gaps and present designs to architecture governance forums.
Key Skills & Experience:

Strong background in Network Security Architecture, including Firewalls, WAF, Proxies, IDS/IPS and Network Segmentation.

Practical knowledge of Service Mesh technologies such as Istio or Kong.

Understanding of Zero Trust, mTLS, PKI, workload identity and identity-based access controls.

Experience designing security solutions for cloud-native, hybrid and microservices environments.

Strong knowledge of AWS/Azure networking and security.

Experience producing architectural designs, standards and patterns within complex enterprise environments.
-
Financial Services experience would be highly beneficial.
