Opportunity Overview:

i-confidential is a people first Cyber Security and Information Risk Consultancy, based in Edinburgh. We currently employ over 20 permanent staff across our consulting and talent acquisition services, as well as working with around 150+ associates who also serve our growing list of clients, including some of the UK’s best-known firms. We are at the heart of the UK’s most extensive and advanced cyber security programmes, constantly improving our capability as we work with an impressive list of clients.

We are continuing to grow and currently have increased capacity to welcome another permanent Cyber Security Consultant to join our existing Technical Delivery Team at i-confidential.

While we have a preference for someone with the ability to visit the Edinburgh office on a hybrid basis, we are open to applicants from across the UK on a remote basis.

This is a Full-Time Mid-Level position.

Please note, we are currently transitioning to a brand new office which will be based in South Gyle – Edinburgh.

 

As a Cyber Security Consultant your responsibilities may include:

  • Advise and guide clients through our security services and consultancy engagements whilst gaining valuable experience in information security solutions.
  • Establish and maintain strong business relationships with clients to assist with the cyber security risks affecting their business.
  • Apply knowledge of information security coupled with understanding of client’s business activities to identify information risks and propose mitigations to senior management and executive level. 
  • Work with clients to provide direction and define appropriate strategic security improvements, shaping the content of security programmes and assignments. 
  • You may be involved in pre-sales meetings to understand customer security requirements, helping to shape proposals and delivering packaged offerings.
  • Develop and deliver our information security services and consultancy across a wide range of clients.
  • Identify opportunities for service improvements and sales.
  • Operate within the specified frameworks of established industry regulators and ensuring that all work meets best practice guidelines and quality standards. 
  • Research industry trends and developments.
  • Bring knowledge and learning into the organisation to help us grow and develop.
  • Write compelling documents and reports.

 

The ideal candidate possesses the following qualities:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar security role.
  • Relevant Qualifications and Certifications would be advantageous.
  • Experience working with Financial Services clients or in similarly regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of enterprise, risk management and security management systems. 
  • Experience of security control frameworks.
  • Experience in multiple security domains such as Risk and Controls, Identity & Access Management, Third Party Security, Data Leakage protection, Information Security Management, etc.
  • The ability to pick up skills at speed and understand the impact of new developments within the industry.
  • Understanding how organisations deploy and manage technologies.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and the confidence to deliver difficult messages.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) at all levels from end users to board level and the ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Self-starter with the drive and motivation to deliver great results for our clients.
  • The ability to work as a team and independently.
