ROLE SUMMARY

We are looking to attract a Cybersecurity Incident Manager to join an existing team with our large banking client. Please note we are happy to explore both contract (inside IR35) and permanent options. The role will be mainly remote but working 1 day per week as a minimum in the client office either in Edinburgh, Bristol or London. Initially the person may be required to spend more time in the office to build key relationships. Candidates therefore need to be flexible with their working location and comfortable to commute if required.

The incident management team are responsible for responding and managing cyber incidents for the group. The team forms part of the wider chief security office and security operations.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The incident manager is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of an incident, from preparing for incidents, through to supporting in the identification of root cause, to developing strategic and operational learning to reduce risk.
  • During an incident the team will act as a focal point for SMEs and stakeholders who will often have multiple streams of work and competing demands to contend with.
  • The Manager role is crucial in supporting the team to deliver a robust Incident Management service that is relied on by senior stakeholders across all divisions to ensure an effective and consistent response to incidents.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Communication and influencing skills are key for this role. The candidate will likely host calls with 3rd parties and senior stakeholders and need to clearly articulate the information
  • Good documentation, writing and presentation skills. Capability to present complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences (including senior leaders)
  • Understanding of the threat landscape and risk profiles, identifying new and relevant threats
  • Experience performing post incident activities to identify where improvements can be made and how to prevent incidents reoccurring
  • Ability to work autonomously, make sounds judgements with limited supervision
  • A willingness to keep up to date with new and emerging technologies and Cyber Security trends, and an enthusiasm for continuous professional development
