Automation Engineer

We are currently looking for an Automation Engineer to work with one of our clients on the adoption and scaling of their Enterprise Automation Platform.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology and business, enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about helping customers achieve success with our solutions. If you love engaging with clients and showcasing cutting-edge technology, this position is for you!
This is not a traditional network-automation role. It’s about helping customers re-imagine service delivery across teams—networking, cloud, security, DevOps—through declarative intent and trusted automation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining software applications and automation scripts.
  • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Automate routine tasks, deployments, and processes using scripting
  • Write clear, maintainable, and efficient code under supervision.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor and report on automation test coverage and performance.
  • Document code, processes, and user guides.

Expectation
  • Deliver code and automation tasks that meet functional requirements and quality standards.
  • Show consistent progress in learning new tools and frameworks.
  • Participate in code reviews and agile ceremonies (stand-ups, retrospectives, etc).
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and follow established workflows.
  • Take initiative on tasks, flag issues early, and seek help when needed

Additional - Consultative skills
  • Ability to analyse existing manual enterprise processes and suggest areas for automation.
  • Create cost-based models and justifications for automation initiatives.
  • Design and promote automate services within the organisation.
  • Plan automation tasks using Agile for automation developers.

Technical Skills
  • Fluency in Git (flows, branching strategies, PR reviews) and associated platforms (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
  • Experience with declarative automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, GitOps workflows)
  • Testing: Experience in Test-driven development for infrastructure automation.
  • Strong collaborative coding experience in Python
  • Solid understanding of enterprise-infrastructure domains: networking (F5, Palo Alto, Fortinet), cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), and CI/CD tooling
  • Familiarity with modern service-delivery models (Backstage, IDPs, IaC)

Soft Skills
  • Eagerness to learn and take feedback.
  • Attention to detail and curiosity.
  • Effective communication (both written and verbal).
  • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive attitude.
  • Time management and prioritization skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  • Passion for technology and continuous learning.
